Thanks to everybody at the club for an amazing first season! TRUST-COMMUNITY-RESPECT

The FA Chartered Standard

We are delighted to announce that in our first season, Basing Royals Youth FC are now an FA Charter Standard Club. It was our aim to achieve this within the first 2 years of setting up the club, and the application was a robust process with several areas of supporting evidence required.   The application was assessed by Hants FA and feedback was obtained from the Peter Houseman League that supported the view that our club displays the high levels expected of an FA Charter Standard Club.

What does it mean?

Having the FA Charter Standard status is a clear demonstration to all players, parents, sponsors and the public, that the club:

· Is well-organised, safe and offers opportunities for all

· Has FA-qualified coaches as standard

· Adheres to FA Respect Policies and Codes of Conduct

· Prioritises Child Welfare

· Maintains appropriate levels of discipline

· Has access to the County FA and FA regional workforces

Can use the coveted FA ‘Three Lions’ FA crest on its marketing and business material

We did a great job is achieving all of the criteria including:

· Having an FA-trained Club Welfare Officer (we have two)

· An FA Level 1 coach for each youth team (we have 4 Level One coaches across two teams)

· Criminal Record Checks (CRC) for all volunteers involved in youth football teams

· FA Emergency Aid-trained volunteers linked to each team

· Sign-up to and deliver The FA’s Respect programme

· Appropriate administration governance in place to be a sustainable club

It also means moving into the new season we will have tangible benefits of:

· Access to Free tickets for England youth and women’s internationals

· Support with funding applications

· An official FA plaque and certificate

· Resources to help promote the club

· Access to apply for kit and equipment

Well done to all who helped support the application and is another step forward in showing we are raising the standards of grassroots football in the local Basingstoke community.
